William L. Gibbs

GIBBS—William L. of Mickelton, after fighting a valiant battle with cancer, on January 4, 2009. Aged 65 years. Legacy A kind and giving person, Bill touched many lives throughout his life making many friends along the way. Bill greatly valued family and community and was the "go to guy" whenever you needed straight forward, honest advice. To say that Bill was a master of all trades was certainly an understatement. A talented perfectionist, Bill skillfully created masterful furniture reproductions, rebuilt and restored several hot rod cars and took great pride in his manicured lawn and green garden. He was a familiar face around East Greenwich Township where he served as little league coach, served on the Zoning Board and the Ambulance Association. Bill enjoyed his membership with Road Knights and attended many classic car events. For 40 years he provided for his family as a roofer and was a loyal member of the Roofer's Local #30, Philadelphia, until his retirement in 1998. It was his relationship with his grandchildren that brought him the most joy. Family He is the beloved husband of 42 years to Jane L. (nee Lennon); devoted father of Christine Morris (John), Michael (Nicole), Johan Sundlof (Debbie) and the late William D.; dear father-in-law of Claire Essig Gibbs; loving grandfather of Evan, Madison and Hayden; longtime loyal friend to many. Farewell Service Bill's family invites you to attend his viewing Wed. 6:30-9 PM and Thurs. 9-9:45 AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury. Funeral Service 10 AM Thurs. in the funeral home.
