Not sure what to say?

I first met Bill when I worked as a secretary at the Medical Computer Resources Center at UT Health Science Ctr. in Dallas, TX. What a wonderful person to know...he made me laugh so hard! Later, a group of about 20 people, some from this job, some friends of friends, began to play softball together (and volleyball) and we became The Softball Group :)

We played softball (casual games) together each week, as well as gather together for games nights, moving parties, decorating...

Bill was an active when I pledged Phi Sig. He was someone that I always looked up to - he seemed to know where he was going - a little different than most of the rest of us. He was smart but did not want everyone to know it.

I did get the chance to visit with him at an OU party some time back and have always thought that was pretty neat.

It is sad that his life was cut short - a loss for all of us...

I JUST LEARNED OF BILL'S PASSING; I AM STILL IN A COMA, AS YOU MUST BE. I WAS THE NASTY-ACTIVE WHEN BILL JOINED PHI SIGMA KAPPA;
HE WAS SO ENJOYABLE TO BE AROUND THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO TREAT HIM BADLY...I TOO, AM SO VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT HE AND I LOST TOUCH, CERTAINLY MORE MY FAULT THAN HIS...TAKE SOLICE IN KNOWING WHAT A REALLY NICE GUY BILL GIPE WAS...IT WAS MY PLEASURE IN HAVING HIM AS A FRAT BROTHER...

To Bill's daughters,
I knew your dad at UT through the fraternity. He was a very nice man whom I know you are very proud of. Nothing will replace him in your hearts, and it will hurt at Christmas, Bill's birthday, and oh yes, on Father's Day. But, know that he loved you and everyone, including me, who knew him, loved him. May God's blessing be with you, Esther C. Ray (Burns)

Our pledge class built a 12" tall Baylor Bear with about a twelve foot arm span and made a leg trap with jaws to set it in and then put it on a trailor and hauled it to the Drag in front of the Co-op. Now this was a full three demensional Bear that was hollow on the inside except for the 2x4 frame that held the chicken wire that the paper mache was stuffed into. Well Bill gets this this wild hair to crawl up inside the Bear to the head and starts taking to passing students. "Hi, I'm the...

Dear Loraine and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Through God's Blessings we will find Peace. Pam & Rick

My husband, Rick, was a fraternity brother of Bill's at Texas. Rick and I both graduated from TJ in 1970, but remember Bill playing the drums for that TJ Rebel Band. We saw Bill several times during the last 30 years when he attended our annual Texas-OU Party...during that time Rick also worked for Arthur Andersen here in Dallas....but I had not talked to him in probably 10 years....it's always a shame when one loses contact. Rick and I both extend our deepest sympathies to his family upon...

To Bill's daughters-
I never got to meet you. Indeed, Bill and I lost contact before you were born. You dad was my friend & we wandered in out of each other's lives until losing contact in the 80's. I hope he passed to you some of his wonderful traits -curiosity, enthusiasm, idealism, and tenacity. I am sorry we never met. Your dad will be missed.I am so sorry for your loss.

I remember the first day I met Bill. He was one of the "cool" guys that we wanted to make sure joined our fraternity. He got the A+ treatment and joined. Throughout college, he wasn't very wild as studying for EE seemed to fill his days. After graduating, we both ended up at Arthur Andersen, Bill in New York and me in Dallas. Bill always had his eye on the "next big thing". He got bored in NY with the mundane work at Andersen. In the 80's he ended up working with my brother to develop...
