William Landers Glasgow Sr., 68, passed from this earthly life and into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at home. He was born May 27, 1940, in Decatur to Otto and Eudelle Glasgow. William was a devoted Christian husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Westmeade Baptist Church. He retired from 3M Decatur after 35 years of service.
Funeral will be Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan and Larry Dillard officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Glasgow; mother, Eudelle Glasgow; and two children, Melissa Jane Glasgow and Roy Sims Glasgow.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Elizabeth Dean Glasgow; son, William Glasgow Jr. of Decatur; two daughters, Dawn Glasgow Cowley of Tullahoma, Tenn., and Lori Glasgow Courtney of Decatur; brother, the Rev. Fred O. Glasgow Sr.; two sisters, Mary Louis Hobbs and Judy Eudelle Spain; four granddaughters, Katie Glasgow, Allie Cowley, Melissa Cowley and Kara Copeland; and two grandsons, Kit Copeland and Jacob Glasgow.
Pallbearers will be William Glasgow Jr., Kit Copeland, Harold Cowley, Fred Glasgow Jr., Kevin Courtney, Thomas Watson and Billy Johnson.
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I have so many pleasant memories of William and Lori coming into the portrait studio at Sears to have her two wee one's portraits made. They adored their grandfather!! Of course, being Judy's little sister, I have memories that go back many, many years. Libba, you have a precious family and my heart has been blessed from just knowing you. My heart breaks for you over the loss of your "Sweet William" as we lovingly called him in high school. I wanted to be there, but there wasn't enough time to arrange it. Please know you and you family are constantly in my heart, thoughts and prayers. I love you, my lifelong friend.
