RIP A great hoops coach who I met thru Russ Bryant CPD an a man with a great hoops mind

Warmest heart-felt condolences to all the Gleason Family and to all who are grieving. May Coach rest in peace. So many stories could be told... not enough room. I thank him for all he taught us. He'll be missed by so many. Bill Schaefer, St. Ben's H.S., Class of 1960.

To all of the Gleason family, my sincere sorrow for the passing of Coach Bill. Bill and I were collegues on many levels. I officiated many of Bills basketball games, I worked with Bill on many of the Chicago beaches, I was a t eacher/coach on the Loyola Academy Staff when Bill was teaching and coaching at the Academy, I bartended at the "Coaches Corner" on Elston and spend many hours solving the problems of the world with Bill at "Tom Greens Baseball Inn," "McGuire's College," and "Gleason...

A fond farewell to a fine friend, man and mentor.
We've raised a few with Bill Gleason-
During and after basketball season-
He'd tell a joke and make a toast-
He was the man, we all called "Coach"!
Thanks, Coach

Bill Gleason was my mentor, a dear friend, beloved and one helluva basketball coach. I'll never forget how Bill and Corky went out of their way for me at Morehead State. He welcomed me into his family. He went out of his way to introduce me to all of his special friends, coaches, maguire u. I enjoyed every minute I spent with Bill and I wish him well. What a guy!

A great Grandfather. I will miss him dearly.

I am Bill's son Marty (#9 of the 16)Thank you for all the kind words about my father. The family was showered with well wishes this past week. Ray Meyer also paid us a visit at the wake. I can't count all of the people that told me how much my father influenced them over the years St. Gregs, St. Bens, DePaul, Loyola etc...

The funeral included 7 priests and about 500 family and friends. Pat Sullivan, Head Coach from St. Francis College in Joliet conducted part of the eulogy...
