Camp Timbers 1993

Bill had a really good heart and a great love of kids. He was a big kid himself! My deepest condolence to Susan and Gracie.

Have so many good memories of Bill, Susan and Gracie that we will treasure always. One that comes to mind is playing spoons with "Bill Greco" rules. Good Times, Good Times. We still play that way to this day. We will miss him deeply.

I was a camper the whole time Bill was there, and I later went on to work at camp. Bill was a great man. In my early years growing up without my dad, Bill really made me feel like everything was going to be ok. And it was. I was just talking about him the other day with my girlfriend.

Bill gave me my first job. It led to the best summers of my life, perspective and compassion, countless friends who are more like family, and a career that I loved. And, for that, I will always be grateful.

I only worked with Bill one year at Camp Timbers, but remember him as a funny, competitive, kind man who always had the best interests of the kids (and staff) at heart. He and I had a bet on the NBA championship, and while I don't remember who played, I ended up washing his car! He led a sing-along in the car to "If You Don't Know Me By Now..." Bill let me use his office in Saginaw the following summer when I directed Day Camp, and was kind enough to be a job reference for me when I moved on...

Bill gave me one of my first jobs at Camp Timbers and I remember him as always smiling, always quick-witted, a true competitor in everything from basketball to rock skipping, and an all around great guy. I'll never forget his smile or his gravely kind voice. He will be missed.

Bill Greco was a wonderful man- he went out of his way to get me my very first job at Camp Timbers. He then made sure I was involved with the Teens group at the YMCA when we got back. He always made sure the guys didn't pick with me too much. Very sweet. He will be missed by many, many people.

You were such a big part of my teenage life coming up in saginaw, you took me everywhere,I love you bill and I wish I could spend more time with you
