Virginia has lost a great Auctioneer. VAA #432 "You Call and I'll Cry!!" Doing what he loved best! 42 years ago he founded Grindstaff's Auction Service. There will never be another auctioneer with as much charisma and showmanship. God broke our hearts to prove to us that he only takes the best!...

Not sure what to say?

Was saddened to read this news last night in the Mechanicsville paper and wanted to offer our deepest sympathy to the entire family. Mr. Grindstaff was always first to offer a big "hello" whether he knew you or not. He will be missed by all who knew him. May God and your friends give you strengh to sustain you through this loss. God Bless, Linda & Robert Toney

Im sure he's already been calling and contacting you. Its the most difficult challenge we all must face in life. Always remember good times with him with happiness and not sadness overshadowed by your loss. It's the way he would want you to remember times with him. Our time here is so short, he was needed somewhere else. Im certain you will see him again someday, time just seems forever for us but is a short time for them. Im so sorry for your loss. He always greeted people by calling them...

I have known cowboy billy for probably 20 years. He helped me settle my moms estate and again my brothers estate. What a loss to all of us whom lives he touched. A heart as big as his hat and his ego. Billy would give you the shirt off his back. I have deep affection and admiration of Billy and his flambouyant personality. We will miss this wounderful man at his shop and the Mechanicsville Drug store.

I didn't know Mr. Grindstaff back in his hey day but I did get to know him when I attended auctions they held in recent years. He was always a friendly face and always made sure he said hello to you. I'll always remember him with his cowboy hat on ingrossed in a conversation about all kinds of items for sale....He always had a story about the old days...This is a great loss and my thoughts and prayers are with all his family and friends.

Mr. Grindstaff was an excellent Auctioneer and a true gentleman. He always greated you with a smile and his kind words made you feel comfortable in his presence. My wife and I will surely miss seeing and visiting with him in the auction world, auctions will not be the same without him. Our prayers are with his family as they adjust their lives of their great lost.

My deceased husband, Roger Abrams, and I spent many Friday evenings with Bill and the family. He was a real country gentleman and never failed to grace us with his sense of humor. Bill will be missed by all the many friends he made during his years of auctioning.
Please know that I share your sorrow and wish you strength and healing in your loss and heartache.
