I first met Billy in Quincy around 1965. He was the very first person (I believe) to have a 10 speed racing bike. I was 14 and he was 19. I was on my sting ray bicycle that every kid had. NOBODY had a 10 speed racing bike except Billy Gruner. He explained all the features of his bike and let me take it for a spin. He told me he participated in road races and occasionally I would see Billy riding his bike going a zillion miles an hour! from that moment on I saved every cent I could earn mowing...
