Not sure what to say?

Bill was a 'biggie" in my life ...kind of a mentor figure.
Even though he was chairman of the English dept. I could always feel free to drop in to his office and have a chat with him. He was what we call today 'accessible"…now a rare thing. He was sharp, on point, and always, always told it like he saw it.
I treasure my memories of him.

Dear family & friends,

We so appreciate the kind thoughts you are sharing here. We wanted to be sure you saw the full obituary the Denver Post wrote for Dad: http://www.denverpost.com/obituaries/ci_12902990, which is not linked to this listing.

Margaret,

I just googled Bill as I was preparing a presentation for our fall faculty workshop. I had planned to tell (and will tell) the story of how he hosted seminars on Moby Dick at your house in Westerville my junior year at Otterbein. What an important influence he had on me and how his attitude on the importance of literature and writing carried through difficult years that followed.

I am glad now that Paul and I saw you all in Denver at Christmas of 2002, him in...

Margaret, Jenny, Amy, and friends:

Bill and I met in our Freshman year of college a the University of Washington in 1958. I was cruising though life and struggling with academics and on the other hand he was cruising thru academics and having a few struggles with life. We became good friends in the Navy ROTC classes and eventually room mates. While I managed to cope with the more weightier things in life in spite of my academic shortcomings, bill honed his academic skills so as...

Dear Margaret:

Connie and I first met Bill in 2001, at the Reunion of 1950s alumni of Tabeetha School in Jaffa, Israel (he had arrived in Israel just about the time I left). It was a great delight getting to know him at the reunion and subsequently. We so appreciated the breadth of his knowledge and interests and shared excitement with the works of authors we admired in common. Even more impressive, though, was the great esteem and affection in which he was held by those who had...

Dear Margaret and family,
We just got the E mail from Stan.
Our hearts ache with you for your loss.
We will always remember and treasure the time we spent with you both.
sincerest wishes, Irit/Avi, Israel.

Mrs. Hamilton, I was so saddened to read the news of Professor Hamilton's sudden death. When I was a student at Metro, he helped me discover my voice as a writer and he widened my horizons as a reader. A gift I will never forget. I hope you can find a measure of peace in knowing he had just spent the day doing what he loved in a place he adored. The man may be gone from this plane but his mark is infinite. Peace to you and yours Laura Ann Lanning Klein

Dear Margaret,
I was so surprised to see that Bill had died so suddenly! I went on the Post website to view entries in my dad's guest book (William Boggess, died July 6) and read the article on Bill. It was obvious that he was a reader - I remember the time we attended the Christmas party at your home. He was a great host and we had a wonderful time. You almost made your 50th anniversary - that's quite a testament to you both. My love goes out to you and your family at this terribly...
