Not sure what to say?

I stumbled across this obit. 11 years too late. Mr. Hanlon was perhaps the overall best teacher I ever had. He was so kind to me, a someone introverted student. He treated me like an adult, not like a child. I can recall him coming in saturdays sometimes to do extra projects with students. One saturday one of the other students shook a can of soda and then opened it and it sprayed all the way to the high ceiling in the classroom. You could see the red come up on Mr. Hanlon's face and he...

Hanlon family, I am so very sorry for your loss. i have such nice memories of your family. Mr. Hanlon was a very kind and patient man, i am sure he is in a better place.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the Hanlon family. Anna Marie and I recall early years attending St. Lewis the King mass with our respective families. When I first became a principal the Supt. asked me which of the District school principals I would most like to immulate. I started the list of three with, "Bill Hanlon". I will miss Bill when I get back to breakfast with the Sunshine Boys. I wish we could have had just one more poker game together. Hey Billy, be sure to tell Jesus one...

Jeanen, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Bill was loved and respected by many as an educator. His retirement left a void in our District, his death leaves a greater one. My deepest sympathies.

I am sorry I was unable to attend services for Bill. He was such a great person; a friend and teacher to all he met. When John battled cancer, Bill never failed to send cards, letters and humor. "They will know we are Christians by our love..."Bill was a Christian who shared love generously with family and friends. What will the Sunshine Boys be without him?

Mr. Hanlon was my Principal from K-8th Grade and I always remember him as a kind warm man that we respected. He always made me feel special because my family was also from Chicago and share the last name Hanlon. I'm sure he touched the lives of many children in his lifetime which means he died a rich man. I offer my deepest sympathies to the entire family.

Bill Hanlon was a incredible presence in the life of my family. As the closest friend to my father, a buddy to my brother and an inspiration to my sister and to myself, the memories of my family history will be forever remembered with the involvement of Bill. St Patrick's Day, Dinner and Dancing with my parents in the 70s, the countless plays and musicals that he always attended, the pool parties during the summer... As I have grown, and moved away from AZ, I still would receive unselfish...

MR. HANLON WAS ONE OF MY 6TH GRADE SCHOOL TEACHERS AT DESERT VIEW GRADE SCHOOL IN 1960-61. HE WAS NOT ONLY A GOOD TEACHER HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND TO ME AND SO MANY OTHER KIDS IN HIS CLASS. HE WAS SERIOUS BUT KIND AND ALWAYS TRIED TO HELP AND INSPIRE US IN CLASS AND ALSO OUT ON THE SPORTS FIELD. HE WAS SO YOUNG THEN AND SO WERE WE. FOR WHATEVER REASON, EVEN THOUGH IT'S BEEN MANY YEARS SINCE I LAST SAW MR. HANLON, HE HAS COME TO MY MIND MORE THAN ONE TIME IN THE LAST MONTH OR SO. I AM SO SORRY HE...

Our deepest sympathy goes to the family of Mr. Hanlon. You had one of our sons when you were the Principal at Royal Palm. I later worked for you and could not ask for a better person to work with. You will be sorely missed by many friends, as you meant so much to so many students and families. May God bless your family.
