William Francis Hartnett, Jr.

I worked with Mr. H at Here's Chicago! and had some of the best times of my life there. He led by example and truly changed me as a person. He helped me grow professionally, personally and spiritually and for these lessons I will never forget him. I am sitting here looking at a book he gave me and reading his inscription to me. "Sean, May God hold you in the Palm of His Hand- Always!" and I now know that God Is holding Mr. H in his palm and rewarding him for all the great things he did for...

I have been blessed to know William Hartnett for over fifty years, when he first brought Chris to Coindre Hall. Two words come quickly and consistently to mind whenever I think of him - FAITH and FAMILY. This is who he is and what he was about. He has left behind much love and light that will continue to brighten our world and for that I am most grateful.

I worked part time at Lake Point Tower, in the Health Club, while attending college in the early 1970's. For Christmas one year, Mr. Hartnett gave all employees, even myself as a part timer, both a Christmas bonus and an engraved wind up Seth Thomas desk clock. I still have that clock on my desk as a remembrance of someone who cared enough not to forget even the occasional part timers, and who made a life long wonderful impression.
