Not sure what to say?

I just tried to contact Bill to say hello and talk about a research problem I'm having, and instead I found out about his death. The news brought a lot of tears along with it. Bill and I were grad students together in the laboratory of the great inorganic biochemist J.B. Neilands, at UC Berkeley in 1975 - 1980. We were studying the iron acquisition systems of bacteria, and even at age 25 Bill was so knowledgeable about the physical and chemical properties of iron that he was a constant...

So sorry for your loss, Aggi. So sorry I didn´t know until now. I first met Bill when he was a resident at Jewish Hospital. I worked in the Special Care Nursery there, and later at Barnes, where I met you. I retired from there in 2018. Bill was a great guy and a dedicated doctor.

I have just learned about Dr Hollifield passing away. I am so sad to hear about his sudden death. I have known him for brief period of time when he worked at St Joseph west hospital at Lake St Louis Hopsital. He used to be quite person but very helpful. A true gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Dr. Hollifield was a joy to be around. I was an RN that worked in the nursery. He taught me a lot with that great intellect of his. I would like to know when his memorial is. God bless you.

It was an honor to know and work with Bill at BJSPH ED. I've never met a person kinder, nor smarter than Bill. None of us needed to look up ANYTHING if Bill was around.. I think he had a good working knowledge of just about any subject! I did stump him once when I asked if he knew where the paisley design originated . He didn't know, but was definitely interested in finding out!...I had a full report by the end of the day! Thank you Bill.. for being such a wonderful, interesting person. ...

I am praying for your family. I worked with Dr. Hollified at st Luke´s and he also took care of my kids in the past. He was such a kind smart man and really made me feel so reassured when i saw him walk through the door as a mom to take care of my kids. He will be deeply missed !

Bill was the most intelligent man I know. If you wanted to know anything about something he was your go to! He will be sadly missed.

Sending my sincere condolences. I worked at St.Luke´s for many years as a RN and worked in the nursery a lot. I loved working with Bill and listening to his stories about his wife ,grandson , traveling, and cooking. He was a kind man and so very smart. He knew everything about anything. He will be missed . RIP Dr Bill.

Dr Hollifield was one of the kindest people that I´ve had the privilege of knowing. He was a wonderful person to work with. He will be missed! Praying for strength and peace for his family. They meant everything to him!
