Not sure what to say?

This week I was awarded the Scholarship in his and his wife's name. It was a surprise and so I went to Google to find out about the people who donated with such kindness. I was sad to first read about Mrs. Holtzman's passing and then I found this obituary. I am disappointed that I am not able to thank him but I would like his family to know that it is extremely appreciated and I respect the sacrifice that they made to help non-traditional students. Please accept my sympathies and thanks...

My sincere condolences to Seymour and Evie Holtzman, and of course, Bill's family. I remember fond memories of Bill and my late cousin Ed and their funny bantering back and forth with puns. Their quick wit was unsurpassed by no one! It was a privilege to have known him.

My most sincere condolences on the loss of a great man. I entered ESF as a non-traditional student simultaneously working at Knowlton Specialty Papers. Dr. Holtzman kept a close eye on me, and very quickly became Dr. Bill. He was more than simply a teacher - he was a life lesson for what his students would face in 'the real world'. Good work was noted and celebrated as appropriate, but woe be unto the ill-prepared when Dr. Bill asked the questions at the paper run defense!
May God bless...

Dr Bill, I never met you(and if I did you'll forgive my youthful carelessness back on a typically cold winter evening in 1977 when I briefly visited your pretty Victorian house in Watertown) but if one is best remembered for parenting, you were as wonderful as your daughter Jill still is. Rest in Peace Dr Bill...

God is faithful and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. (1 Cor. 10:13)

I loved caring for Bill. He always had the sweetest smile and personality. I will never forget our walks around the neighborhood, and how he loved to snack from his special snack cupboard. He was a true "Mensch". I am sure he and Sandy are together now for eternity. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. With love, Rosalee Collmer
