Not sure what to say?

Dear Dottie, David and Hungate family members, We are so sorry to hear about Bill. You have been so important in the lives of the Jennings family and their offspring. What an honor and privilege to have shared so much in life. The memories held by many will keep Bill's spirit with us always. Our very best wishes to you in your sorrow. Love, Betty, GT, Abbie and Taylor (Foust)

Dottie:
We are so sorry to hear about Bill. I was just looking on KSDK's website and just today saw the announcement. See, Mom wasn't here to call and tell us. I did call BJ and let her know. If you need anything, let us know. Take care of yourself.

To the Hungate family,
I went to school with Dorothy's sister and remember when my twin sister and I were in high school spending a weekend with the Wilson family and Dorothy and Bill and another couple were there. They were "War Brides" and it seemed so romantic and wonderful to me to see these young couples so like the movies we watch. I have followed Bill's career and have always admired him so much. What a wonderful man...there aren't any like in politics anymore.

DOROTHY, DAVID, AND KAY,
I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF BILL'S PASSING. MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF HIM ARRIVING AT THE HOUSE TO DISCUSS THE CAMPAIN WITH DAD. WE ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO HIS VISITS. HE WAS A GREAT MAN,AND HAD A GREAT SENCE OF HUMOR. I WILL MISS HIM VERY MUCH.

Few people in my life have made the lasting impression that William Hungate did. I was a law clerk for Judge Hungate in 1984-1986. He taught me that the law (and life) is to be studied and applied with humor and compassion. He was able to do that with an easy elegance. After now having worked as a lawyer for 20 years, I often recall those lessons and strive to incorporate his wisdom into my practice and life. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

Sorry for your loss. News of your father's passing made it all the way out to California. I read with great interest of his accomplishments. I know how proud you are of him.

Bill and I were in the same basic training company at Fort Benning in 1943. He was a good soldier, then and later. His performance in the Watergate affair was a masterpiece. My sincerest condolences to his family.

My sympathy goes out to you Dorothy. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor and played an important role in Congress. I remember as a little girl Dad helping with the campaigning. Those were exciting years and I always loved being involved. My thoughts are with you. I will try to make it to the memorial. Love Sandy Hackmann (Lefholz)

Our condolences to the family of William Hungate. We were proud that our son's 1968 appointment to the USAF Academy was made by Representative Wm Hungate, and this has had a profound influence in our lives. His family can be proud of his honorable achievements and the influence he has had on many lives of Missouri citizens. We need some like him in Congress today.
