Not sure what to say?

Only now read that Bill had passed. A great loss to his family and the many students and teachers he worked with for decades. It was a joy to teach art along side Bill for 15 years. Bill was a foundation of the Parkrose HS Art program. Teaching drafting, pottery & sculpture. His students respected him, as did his his fellow teachers.

I met Mr. (William) Hunt in the late 80´s at Parkrose High School where I was a student in his class where he taught ceramics full-time. I took his ceramics course throughout high school as well as we attended the same athletic & social club - the MAC, we learned in conversation. Years after I graduated I went back to Parkrose - the new school that had been rebuilt. Classes were out for the day, no students, as well as most the teachers had left for the day. As I walked down the hallway,...

I knew Mr. Hunt first as a colleague of my Dad's (Mr. Lund). I knew him as my Shop and Jewelry Craft Teacher and the wrestling coach, when I went to Heights as a student. He had a great sense of humor and took crafting seriously. The most useful things he taught me involved machine safety and woodworking. They served me well in life. I have always and will always remember him fondly.

Dear Dana, Alicia and Bryan, you are in my thoughts and prayers. While it´s been years since leaving Portland, I immediately recognized Bill´s photo in The Winged M. I warmly remember you all. It´s wonderful you have so many joyful memories of Bill..

Bill was a classmate at Metzger and through to 12th grade at Tigard. Lived just down the road and near our friends the Coryells. I'm sorry to hear of his passing and wish his family well.

For many years, I knew Bill as Mr. Hunt. He taught shop and ceramics at Parkrose Heights Jr. High, before moving to the High school. We became reacquainted on a first name basis when we ran into each other at the MAC. I recognized him immediately and asked, "are you Mr. Hunt?" He replied, "Mister Hunt? Wow, I must really be old!" He hadn´t seen me since I was a teenager, so of course he didn´t recognize me. However, because my Aunt Kathy taught at heights, and they were friends,...

Jayne and I offer the Hunt family our deepest sympathies. You undoubtedly recall, Dana, that Bill introduced us to you at our wedding May 1978. Bill and I were roommates for 1971-1972 at Western Washington College. Along with several other roommates on Humboldt Street (Jim R included). It has been said: If you remember the `60s, then you weren´t of the `60s. But of those days in Bellingham and of those days in Portland, which ensued, the `70s with Bill bring bright memories of laughter...

Bill was a great guy. I spent many a Saturday morning at the MAC playing tennis together. He was a wonderful sport, I always remember him encouraging everyone to play well and just have fun. Fond memories, Thanks Bruce

Bill Hunt was a great teacher and coach at Fremont Jr. High. I taught with him before moving to the High School to teach history and Russian. He was a character of the first order! So sorry to hear of his death. Too young to go. May his memory be eternal! Fr. Dn. David B. Cole, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, PDX OR
