William Thomas Jackson

William Thomas (Tom) Jackson, born in Liberty, MS and a resident of The Bluffs, St. Francisville, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at home at the age of 82. Visitation will be at the Jackson United Methodist Church, Jackson on Saturday, September 9, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Service will be conducted by the Rev. Chris Curry. Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery. He is survived by two daughters, Frances Jackson Stafford (Tom) of Covington and Susan Jackson Vidrine (Jody) of Jackson; two sons, James Ford Jackson and John Harvey Jackson, both of Jackson; his sister, Mary Alta Clark (James) of McComb, MS and brother, Hal Kinabrew Jackson, Jr. (Yvonne) of Minden; and five grandchildren, Jackson Thomas Stafford and Caroline Frances Stafford, both of Covington, and Whittington Brannon Vidrine, Foxworth Ford Vidrine and Elizabeth Jackson Vidrine, all of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Harvey Jackson, and parents, Hal Kinabrew Jackson, Sr. and Avis Walsh Jackson. Pallbearers will be Jackson Stafford, Whittington Vidrine, Foxworth Vidrine, Richard Campbell, Hal Clark, Carl Pigott, Jim Clark, Scott Harrington, and Corey Grimsley. He was a graduate of LSU and enjoyed a career as a chemical engineer at Crown Zellerbach in Bogalusa. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Jackson United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge Liberty #37. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, traveling, and playing bridge. The family would like to express its gratitude to his caregivers, Anita Franklin and Meleter Cardin, for their love and care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Jackson United Methodist Church. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
