Not sure what to say?

Bill Jackson was one of the finest persons I have even known. We served together in the Office of the Governor from 1974-78. He was a good friend and role model. To my sorrow, I lost touch with Bill when I moved to Texas. He will always have my friendship and respect.

I first met General Jackson in 1969. He was just a class individual then as he was at the time of his passing. I served under him in the 20th SFGA and I was always certain that as a commander, he was looking out for my welfare, as well as all others in the Group. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Lynn and all the Jackson family. I had the honor and privilege to served with General Jackson while he was commander of Troop Command. I, as well as all who served with him, had the utmost respect for him and would follow him anywhere. He was the kind of leader one would want to go to war with. To me, this is the greatest quality of a leader if soldiers chose him to go to war with.

MERE WORDS CAN NOT EXPRESS THE DEEP LOST, GENERAL JACKSON'S FAMILY HAS EXPERIENCED. I MET THE GENERAL, WHEN I WAS A YOUNG NCO WITH THE 20TH SFG. HE HAD JUST TAKEN COMMAND OF THE GROUP. HE WAS ALWAYS A GOOD LEADER AND RESPECTED ALL OF HIS TROOPS. THEY, IN TURN, RESPECTED HIM. HE WILL, LONG BE REMEMBERED AND LONGER MISSED. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY, AT THIS TIME.

In 1976, when SGM James Flowers died in a jeep accident, I was attending OCS at Ft. Benning. I was prepared to "jetison" my career to attend his funeral, but COL Jackson and LTC McKee convinced me to stay. Airborne all the way! Donald A. Cutts, CPT USAR(R) A/1/20SFG(A) '73-'79

I was a Staff Sgt when I met then Col Jackson, I enjoyed being part of his orginaziation. I am sure most of the older SF guys remember the Idaho deal when I borrowed the road grader and drove it to Cascade, well Gen Jackson had to do a lot of talking to keep me from staying in Idaho when the 20th returned home. Later He was instrumential in my going to Flight school and I will always remember Him as a Friend, not just a Commander. May God Bless His Family in this momemt of need.

I remember General Jackson as being a very kind, wise, and strong leader. A true Southern Gentleman who had great love for God, Country, Family. He will be missed. I have thought of him often.

My prayers and condolences go out to the family and friends of General Jackson.

General Jackson was one of the nicest people I have ever known.
I have many happy memories of the time I spent at the hunting camp hunting and talking with him.
He was a true Southern Gentleman and a great friend to all. General you will be missed and the hunting camp will never be the same without you.
