Not sure what to say?

Well, Mr. Johnson, you are never far from our thoughts. Just the other day I was telling somebody how much everyone loved you. They kept in touch along after school days. Not many teachers can say that about their students and the love they had for you. You taught me how to drive and you´ll be proud to know that I have never had an accident or a ticket! You taught me well. But I shouldn´t brag about that because when I go out again, well, you know lol you are missed and you were well loved...

Such good memories and words of wisdom over our daily morning talk. Will miss him tremendously. Much love and support to you Vicki.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr.Johnson's passing. I remember him with great fondness from El Rancho (class of 65). Mr. Johnson taught me how to drive a car, I will never forget him and have spoken of him often through the years. Thank you for being a positive influence in my life when I needed it. Thank you also to his family for sharing him with us. Prayers and love are being sent to all of you.

I remember Ernie. I always tell my son what a great football team and coach El Rancho had when I was a classmate. 1964, My sister class 1960.Brother 1965.He will be missed. There is a football angel looking down from heaven. My deepest sympathy. Adams Kids

My Condolences to the Johnson Family. I played football for Coach Johnson in 1973 and 1973. I was a young man out of Neff High School in La Mirada on my way to Alaska to work construction. Coach Johnson talked to me about playing football at Cerritos and he was convincing enough that he talked me into postponing my move to Alaska. After 2 years playing under Coach Johnson Cal Poly San Luis Obispo offered me a scholarship to play football. I ended up with a degree in Environmental Engineering...

God is close to those that are broken at heart.

My condolences, Mrs. Johnson, to you and all of Ernie's relatives. I had the pleasure of meeting him as a sportswriter for rival Excelsior High while covering San Gabriel Valley League football, which he and his teams dominated back in those days. Our paths crossed again a decade later while I was a member of the Cerritos College Board of Trustees and he was our head coach. He was a coaching legend in our neck of the woods and his legacy will always be with those he coached and helped along...
