Not sure what to say?

He was my doctor in 1965. I was 15. I had a kidney issue. He got with Urologist, Dr. Stinson and he did a dilation. I spent a week in the hospital. Dr. Kate's was very sweet and compassionate.

He was truly a wonderful and caring doctor back when a doctor could be counted on.

Dr. Kates touched many lives as a family physician, as a civic leader, as a founding member of the Huntsville Symphonic Orchestra, and as a teaching physician at UAB in Huntsville. He may have been out of the public eye for awhile, but he is still remembered with the respect he deserves, having earned his place in shaping Huntsville's history. Hopefully current civic leaders and the media will pause to take note of his passing, and say, as we do, "Thanks, Doctor."

Dr. Kates touched many lives during his years in Huntsville, as a family physician to many, including our family, as an active civic leader, and as a member of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. He may have been out of the public eye for awhile, but he is still remembered, and has earned a respected niche in Huntsville's history. Hopefully current community leaders and the media will pause to note his passing and say "Thanks, Doctor."

Dr. Kates was our family doctor when we moved to Huntsville in 1964. He was a great doctor and I remember him playing the tympani drums in the Huntsville Symphony in the '60's. Rip Doc!

Sorry to hear of Dr. Kates passing. He was our family doctor for years - from my childhood, and marriage and 2 sons, until he retired. I remember his war plane pictures hanging thru the office. Mostly, I remember his kindness and how he was truly interested in his patients. I've often wondered where he retired to and if he was still alive. He made a positive impact on many lives here in Huntsville. He was a great man and doctor!
