Bill’s passing has been devastating for me, as I know it has been for Sally, the Family, and so many others. His and my friendship goes back to Ponce Jr High, when I was in the Band and Bill was in the rival Orchestra. I think that was the beginning of us poking fun at each other that continued until our last meeting on his last Sunday. Bill was always my “go to guy”. When I needed to recall a memory or a name, if something...

Bill and I were the only students to show up on our floor on the first day that Rutgers opened the dorms in 1967. He never missed a chance over the years to remind me about my “Jersey” pointy shoes I was wearing that day. I in turn would remind him that the wool ski cap he wore that day until his hair dried was a really good look for him.

There were not that many dining options with classes not yet in session, but we found a place in New Brunswick that day that had a paper plate...
