Not sure what to say?

I and many high school friends worked at Kohlman’s IGA in the 1970’s. Bill was an honest man who had empathy for other people and the problems life threw at them. When someone came in asking if the store would extend them credit for groceries, his answer was always “The store doesn’t do that, but if you’ll pay me back, I’ll personally borrow you some money for food”, and I witnessed him doing that on multiple occasions. He was full of life lessons that I still remember and use today. As a...

As a classmate and friend of your daughter.....I will remember you for your smile, generosity, and most of all for your kindness. Jackie....I send you big hugs. I pray that you and your family are surrounded by loved ones who bring you comfort and support.

Bill resided at Pine Glen Senior Apartments a few years. He was the person people aspire to be. Always a kind word. Never anything wrong in his world. If there was he would never dwell on it, someone else always had it so much worse. He had a great day everyday. People used to love and just sit and talk with him. You always walked away feeling very blessed.

Thanks so much to everyone who has visited this page or reached out in some other way. Your comments warm my heart.

Bill was my instructor at the Tech in the late 60s. He was so encouraging, and convinced me I could go on to finish my BA. when I would come, home, I would enjoy stopping in the store to say hi and visit a few minutes. His encouragement sent me,on my path to teaching Marketing, getting my Masters and working in corporate marketing. Wonderful man.

Lived above The Alibi in the late 70's. The IGA across the street is where I did all of my shopping. Bill always had a big smile, a kind word, and a positive attitude. The world, especially nowadays, needs a heckuva lot more Bill Kohlman's around. R.I.P. Brother Bill...

Mr Kohlman is the definition of customer service and friendliness. Always such a wonderful man when my family would go into his store to shop.

Bill was the nicest person i knew he always helped people who couldn't pay for their groceries or needs he trusted them when they promised to pay later he was a soulful man

Bill Kohlman gave me my first part time job at age 16. He was such a kind man. My fondest memory of Bill. I worked as a checker, but was very shy and concerned that I would make a mistake. After I helped a few customers, Bill came over and gently pulled me aside. He said, “I know you’re concentrating, but don’t worry so much. You’re going to have to talk to the people you are checking out. You’ve waited on 3 customers and haven’t said a word. Say good morning. Thank them...”. It must have...
