Not sure what to say?

35 years ago today, on Aug 16, 1990 when he was 7 months old my son received a BMT, life-saving care @ the University of Minnesota. Dr William Krivit´s medical care & research saved Andrew´s life. We are forever grateful.

This year Bill's birthday is on Thanksgiving and we find that so appropriate. It is at this same time of year, way back in 1995, when our Darcee was in transplant under his care. Bill was a blessing and an inspiration. We started our MLD advocacy work in 1999 and launched MLD Foundation in 2001 ... and have been caring for families, advancing research, promoting newborn screening, and improving better access to better clinical care around the world ever since. Thank you Bill for all that...

I reflect often about Dr. Krivit. He was all for his patients and trying to find cures for their "incurable diseases". He managed to convince a private practice radiologist to help him many years ago (1990 or 1991) on pure passion. He gained my respect by his commitment to his patients/research and he kept it by his respect for all his professional colleagues (including me). He was catalyst for the advances in treatment made after his death. His legacy lives on not only by papers, but by...

Remembering Bill on his birthday ...

We will remember Bill as the doctor that was so caring for us in the Netherlands when I med him 15 september 2001 8 day's after the BMT from our daughter Daisy*in Amsterdam when he was there with his lovely wife and he shares the concerns about Daisy she should have a GVHD and he said to me I hope she will survive but MLD is so a cruwel disease and I cross my fingers she will make it! Poorly enough
Daisy is gone 11 october that year and our son Erwin got his BMT either 7 months after...

We're remembering Bill as we approach the anniversary of his passing on the 8th in 2005. He was our daughter Darcee's transplanter (she died in 1995 at age 10). He was also the inspiration for the MLD Foundation which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year with family conference sin 4 countries, 3 of which had never had a gathering of MLD families before!

Dean, Teryn & Lindy (age 31 with MLD)

Dr. Krivit began treating my son Eric, at the age of 4, for ALD, now 23, and against all odds at the time, Eric is still alive.

I can still remember vividly watching Bill play and interact with his kids in the clinic, and I remember thinking how much I truly loved and admired this doctor.

I spent many years watching Bill in the clinic and as the years past suddenly it became aware to me that Bill began to look older to me. I remember growing fearful because it suddenly...

Our Lindy just celebrated her 30th birthday. While she never met Bill, it brought back memories of her younger sister, Darcee, and all of those who cared for and loved her. Both have MLD. Bill was one who led the pack! Her memory lives on through Lindy and now in our 10th year, the MLD Foundation.
