My father was proud of his Swiss ancestry. While growing up, this meant trips to the German American festival, the Swiss Hall, and Sunday mornings listening to the radio for the German American hour. Uncle Bill always made me feel special...because he was a special person. I loved staying with him and Aunt Margaret every summer. So many good memories of my childhood were because of them. Perhaps small things to others, but glorious for me. The only mail I got was my birthday card from them. He introduced me to onion rings, saved my favorite donut for me and treated me to ice cream cones.
Thanks for the memories.
