To the entire Lang Family: I am deeply saddened to hear of Bill's passing. Bill and I became very good and loyal friends during our time growing up in Brighton. Although we lost touch over the years, I knew that he would be there for me if ever I needed him. Bill will forever be in my thoughts and prayers - and so will each of you.

Bill’s contribution to his country did not go unnoticed nor unadmiredby the folks that knew him as he displayed unusual courage and bravery as a Marine in times of conflict. He was always so open, kind and gregarious whenever I encountered him. One always felt safe when Bill was around. He will surely be missed by his countless friends and admirers. I count myself lucky to have him grace my presence and be one of his admirers.

I hope they have a rink in Heaven and that you get to skate again. Oak Square will miss you. I remember you from 1971 on the MBTA Police.

My condolences to the family and friends of Billy. I had the pleasure of working with Billy on occasion in the BPD.
As an “Old Boston “ guy myself I pay him the highest compliment from the era: “He was a good guy.” This says it all if you lived the times.
We all liked Billy! Perfect mix of competence and humor.

I knew Billy when he was a patrolmen on the MBTA Police Dept. along with his fellow pals from Brighton Joe Driscoll and Kevin Crawford. They were all good guys to work with and fun to be around. I'm sorry to hear of his loss and hope his family will have some comfort in knowing Billy was one of the "good guys" on and off the job.
