Not sure what to say?

Coach Lapthorn was a wonderful coach and mentor. I had weight training with him at Marshall and he taught me so many valuable lessons that I use in my daily life. He inspired me to be a physical therapist and I think about the things he taught me daily. I’m so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you. Praying for you and your family.

Coach Lapthorn was a strong role model, a tough coach, and a good man. When he arrived at Marshall High School his contagious enthusiasm was felt by the entire athletic community. He brought a sense of grit to every workout, practice & game and we were all made stronger by his presence. Rest in peace, Coach

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

He will be greatly missed at Mason high school

Coach Lapthorn was easily one of the most influential people on my development in high school. I give him full and complete credit for instilling the work ethic I have today and for the love and knowledge that I have for weightlifting. Throughout my adult life I have found myself constantly going back to the lessons that he taught while he was my coach. I know he influenced far more people than just myself. He was certainly loved by many and will be missed

To the Lapthorn family, I offer my sincere condolences for your loss, with the greatest sincerity you are all in my prayers. I knew Lap when he was at Princeton, we were colleagues. I was fortunate when he left Princeton to continue his career at Mason. Lap coached my son and my son loved him. Lap was instrumental in his total development. I cannot thank him enough.

First I would like to say sorry to the family for your loss of a great man. I met Coach Lap when I was in Winton Woods Middle School. I could not wait to get to the high school to be coached by him. Coach lap has laid the foundation so strong in me the way I have been coaching my offensive line for the past 10 years it's similar to how he used to coach me. The game of football will be missing a great coach! R.I.P COACH

Coach introduced me to weight lifting at Princeton High School. He saw potential in me before many other coaches did. You will be missed Coach Lap!

I remember seeing him coaching Marshall's team back when I was still in High School. He was loved by many. I enjoyed seeing him on the field while I was in the stands playing in the marching band. Coach Lapthorn will be missed by many. RIP Coach Lapthorn! Marshall loves you!
