Not sure what to say?

Only heard of Bill's passing recently. My sincerest condolences to the famiy. Bill was the first friend I made when I attended UVM in the fall of 1966. He treated me like a little brother, for which I was most appreciative. We were teammates the season of 67-68. I was a bench warmer, and he was the star and leader of the team, but he treated me as an equal and a friend. Several years later, he became a graduate assistant coach for uvm for the season of 69-70. I was the captain that...

Having just learned of my Rutgers colleague's call to heaven, I am sending prayers to the LiBrera family and extended family that Bill so loved. I called him "Billion Dollar Bill" when I walked into his office at the GSE---he responded with a resounding "DC!"---which lasted about 4 seconds. He was tickled, every time we greeted each other this way. Bill and I often talked about the best place to get broccoli rabe and we were convinced that we could make it better. Too bad we never got to...

Dear Nancy and Librera family. I am sorry this is so late. I just learned of Bill's passing. Ellen and I are deeply saddened and send our heartfelt condolences. Bill and I became friends the first time we met and continued that friendship after he came to Rutgers. We had a great time discussing philosophy, education, John Dewey, and our shared belief that school teachers and leaders were public intellectuals and agents of social renewal. I was delighted to support Bill for the well-deserved...

My deepest condolences to all. We will keep you in our prayers.

This is a great tribute to a man who made a big difference in countless people's lives. Our thoughts and positive energies are with your entire family.

Our most heartfelt condolences. We just loved Bill. Always there with a ready smile. He was a world-class storyteller - but, more importantly, a listener. His genuine interest and enthusiasm for what others were passionate about made every person in the room feel important - especially the kids. He will be sorely missed, but always and fondly remembered.

We were house mates at UVM in 1968 Vietnam war was raging, times were hectic and lots of uncertainly in the air. Billy was a student teacher at a Burlington high school. Every morning he put on a tie, went to his senior class and talked history. He loved history. He was a great reader. That senior year we four couples lived in a dumpy building. It was cold and ratty. It was magical. After graduation we all went our separate ways, raised families, went to work. We...

I am very saddened to hear this sad news about Coach Librera . I always enjoyed sitting behind him on the Mendham HS bus to and from our away games . He always had a smile and words of encouragement for me . He was my favorite teacher . My prayers go out to his family during this most difficult time .

I was saddened to learn about the passing of Bill Librera. He was a bright star in my lifetime. I remember when Coach Librera arrived at Mendham High. I was going into my junior year and he was our new Varsity basketball coach. Articulate, confident, a great communicator and an outstanding basketball coach and history teacher...but most importantly Coach Librera was just great human being. He was always "Coach Librera" to me and possessed that unique gift where he could talk to you on your...
