Not sure what to say?

Although I have not seen Ed in over forty years, and have been living outside the US for over 25 years, he has been frequently on my mind lately so I decided to reach out for a too belated thank you for all his kindness so many years ago. That is how I am seeing only now his obituary. I am so sad that I am too late for Ed to read this. I should introduce myself. I was a first year resident the year Ed was Chief Resident in Radiology at MCG. I can not begin to relate how helpful and kind he...

To Dr. Loftis Family, Remembering a year ago in the loss of Dr. Loftis. He was a very nice and professional Radiologist. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace. God bless you.

I am sorry about Ed's passing. I was in his medical school class.

Sorry for your loss may there be comfort in knowing that god cares for you. 1 peter5 : 6&7

To family of Dr. Loftis

I want to extend my deepest sympathy in the passing of your dear loved one. I worked as a Medical Transcriptionist in Radiology and typed many of his reports. He was a very good dictator. He was very polite and courteous. He will be deeply missed. May God grant you love, strength and courage as he guides you through this difficult time.

Ed and I were fellow members in the Eastern Radiological Society, and also played golf several times at the Augusta CC as well as at Chanticleer in Greenville SC. Although I have not seen him recently, he remained a good friend, and I find myself telling Ed Loftis stories frequently. Great guy! Eccentric is the best one word description for Ed.I'll miss him!

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Loftis at Doctors Hospital in Augusta from 2002-2008. He was not only a colleague but he was my friend. I am saddened by his passing and I pray your family finds peace with all of this. One of the best... Dr. Loftis, truly a good man.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dr Loftis. I worked for him in x-ray at Athens General back in 1979. He was a great boss. My sympathies to the family.

Jan and Family,

I was deeply saddened to learn of Ed's Passing. I guess I am the last regular surviving member of the Doctor's Hospital Breakfast Club. We all enjoyed Ed's droll wit and his encyclopedic knowledge of Dixie History and UGA athletics. I trust that his storied pickup truck will be placed in good hands. Ed was truly a good fellow. 'When comes such another?' God bless and keep you. I trust the old renovated homeplace will give you some comfort during these times.
