William J. (Bill) Lovelace, 67, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at the Iuka Hospital. He was a member of the Iuka United Methodist Church, and served his country from 1953 until 1976 in the United States Marine Corps. He was a highly decorated Force Recon and retired as a Captain. He served in the Korean Conflict, served two tours of duty in Vietnam, and served at the National Security Agency. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and working with computers. He also loved researching genealogy, spending time with his family and friends, and especially his dog Moocher. Visitation is scheduled for 5 – 8 pm, Thursday, June 26, at Cutshall Funeral Home - Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Friday, June 27, 2003, at the Iuka United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Tony Pounders. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors. Cutshall Funeral Home - Iuka is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Dean Lovelace, Iuka, MS; 1 son, William J. (& Shanna) Lovelace, II, Iron City, TN; 1 daughter, Christina Bowser, Alexandria, VA; 2 brothers, John (& Sherry) Lovelace, Douglasville, GA, and Dan (& Dianne) Lovelace, Tuscumbia, AL; 1 sister, Aline Pace, Tuscumbia, AL; and 1 grandchild, Aspen Marie Lovelace, Iron City, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Velma Lovelace; 3 sisters, Betty Helmy, Barbara Spence, and Dorothy Lovelace; and 2 brothers, James Lovelace and Jerry Lovelace.
