I just read of Dr. Lucas' passing in the UCSD Alumni Magazine. My condolences to his family. I met Dr. Lucas in 1972 as a freshman medical student at UCSD and he was the main reason I went into Obstetrics and Gynecology. Mary Lou, My sincere sympathy. I remember a couple of good years in the P.I., and a brief encounter in San Diego. Very pleasant memories.

There have been others, and then, there was always us who were always legends in our own minds.
My personal picks as the best of the best were Bill Lucas, Bob Brown(aka the RAB), Al Blank, and Rich porch.
