William E. "Bill" Lui-Kwan

I am very sorry to hear this. I knew him in 1979-1980. He was my boyfriend . We both drove pedicabs in Waikiki. I'm glad to have this picture of him. He was a very kind person.

I´m crying as I write this, I loved Bill Lui Kwan so much . We were all lucky to have known him!

Billy was my conduit to Hawaii in many ways. I spent a couple of years with him in the back of Palo Valley in the early 2000's. I had come from Australia and we knew people from both surfing diasporas. Bill was most definitely a person for the people. I love him very much and will miss him dearly. My only regret is not to have called him recently as I meant to, Aa Hui Hou my friend.
