Not sure what to say?

I am still here today due to the surgical skills of Dr Mackey. He saved my life. As great of a surgeon he was, he was an even compassionate and caring man

I was saddened with the passing of Dr Mackey. Not only was he a skilled surgeon who saved my life, he was a good, a compassionate, caring man. God bless him

Just found our Dr. Mackey died earlier this year. My heart dropped. He had so looked forward to retirement, tending his roses, and being wirh his family. He saved my life on January 19th, 2002 allowing me to bring up my children, continue my nursing career and enjoy my life, despite a limb loss. God Bless him Beautiful human being. Kathy Burns

Dr. Mackey performed three surgeries in my dad. He was the kindest, most caring doctor. I´m sorry for his family as well as the medical community. He truly was one of a kind.

I knew Mac really well when we were at Amherst. He and I were on the swimming team, and we were among the very small number of Religion majors (I think two in my class, and maybe one or two more in Mac´s). He was always such a completely good-hearted, kind, gentle person. Mac and I just missed having lunch together when I flew back to my 25th reunion in 1997. The next time I saw him was on television, talking about treating Boston Marathon bomb victims. I realized then how...

I met Bill in July of my internship when he was my senior resident at New York Hospital. He was a great guy and a great surgeon then and remained even more so over all these years. It so sad to imagine him gone and even though our contact were usually telephonic over the last number of years, I will really miss him and being able to pick up the phone. He was a wonderful man. My condolences to his family and especially Emily who I have the privilege of working with the last 5 years.

He was a great man and a great surgeon. He played a profound role in my own professional development, and I will always be grateful to him for his contributions. He has left a void in the vascular surgery community that will be difficult to fill. He has been an inspirational role model that ihas impacted many surgical careers, and even more patients. We will miss him greatly.
