Not sure what to say?

A fine scholar and colleague. He will be remembered fondly.

One of the finest teachers I ever had who left a profound impression on me. I'll never forget his humor. Maybe now that Tuba Scholarship will get created. Thanks for the giving of yourself for the betterment of all of us.

Bill was my advisor, a great man! After his accident that resulted in a back plate, I always used to call him the man of steel! My prayers and thoughts go out to the family.

Dr. Mahar was my guiding light and kindred spirit when I attended Penn State Capitol Campus in the late seventies. We did many a class performance together on medieval and civil war music. After graduation, I cherished the many times our paths would cross, either during those performances or at later graduations and awards ceremonies where I would sing the National Anthem. Farewell, dear friend. May you enter the rosy-fingered dawn of a new and eternal life.

My condolences to the entire family of Dr. Mahar. He touched so many lives, including so many students over the years as Director of the School of Humanities. The students always came first and he helped many students achieve their dream. He was a special person and I'm proud to have known him, worked with him, and called him my friend.

We offer our condolences. We pray in your behalf, and we offer the hope of welcoming back our loved ones on a Paradise earth. Psm 37:29

My condolences to the family in the passing of Dr. Mahar. He was a great inspiration and taught me many things about life and was helpful in achieving my PSU Degree. His memories and what he has taught me will live on forever.
