William 'Bill' Lambert MarkerAug. 3, 1925 - Jan. 13, 2019 As a teacher for over 30 years, Bill cultivated and enriched the lives of thousands of junior high and high school kids who still ask me, "how is Mr. Marker?" His light began to shine at his birth in Rushford, Minn. He died in his Happy...

Not sure what to say?

I always appreciated the blessing of having great Christian leaders for my science teachers. They encouraged me in my faith and made learning science an adventure.

Bill Marker was my Dad's good friend for many years. I recall very well the time he spent helping my Dad do remodeling projects on our house. Many years before that, we went camping with his family. As a student at Parkrose Fremont Jr. High I was in his Animal Behavior class. In each of my experiences with him he was consistently willing to share his knowledge and to help anyone who needed it. As a teacher, Mr. Marker was a great example and always modelled the best behavior. Thanks...

Sad to hear of Mr Markers passing. During his tenure at Fremont Jr High School he taught all seven of my siblings. Great guy and so patient and inclusive of all his students.

Sadness hit my heart when I heard of Mr. Marker's passing. He was one of my most favorite teachers of all times. I was lousy in math in high school, thus did poorly in his science classes. Math was dull and boring, but science was not. Mr. Marker found ways to inspire my creative thinking, he encouraged me, and never gave up hope. He even started an aviation ground school class that he allowed me into, where I finally impressed him with my capabilities. He was always friendly, easy to...

I'm just learning of the news of Mr Markers passing. Not only was an amazing teacher but he was an amazing person. He treated everybody equal and I know that I was always happy to attend his class. Rest in peace

Sorry for your loss. Lorna Lynch, Bill's sister, is my grandma. Helen Hotopp is my mom. I remember Bill coming to a few of the family reunions.

Mr. Marker was a great teacher and a kind man.

My condolences to the family of Mr. Marker. Mr. Marker was my favorite science teacher at Fremont Jr. High in the early 70's. He had such a wonderful enthusiasm for science and was so encouraging in his teaching style. I designed an experiment for the school science fair that he encouraged me to enter in a fair at OMSI and I won an award for it! He gave me the confidence to explore my love of science ultimately leading to earning a degree in biology and chemistry. Thank you Mr. Marker.
