William H. Marlin

Uncle Bill never seemed at a loss for words, he often made jokes or insights at the dinner table. His candor will be greatly missed at family gatherings. May his legacy take root in his creations throughout life, art, and those whose lives he so deeply touched. I will always remember him as the sophisticated man that had a love for all things cultural and sweet.

I was fortunate enough to meet Bill and Therese when he kindly consented to exhibit his beautiful artwork in a small exhibition space at the Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center in Mt. Holly. His artwork brought much comfort to the many patients, families, staff and volunteers who came to the Center each day. I remember fondly Bill's positive attitude in general and his happiness about the show in particular. My deepest condolences to Therese, your family and friends.

Although Bill Marlin worked mostly in black and white as an artist, he was one of the most colorful people I've ever met. As a teacher and friend since the early 70's when he began at CCC, he enriched my life and I will always remember him in his rainbow of demeanors, the spirit his person beckoned in me and all who knew him to live life to the fullest and create along the way.
