Not sure what to say?

I loved Father Maroon as he helped me during a critical stage in my life. He was a true friend.

I was reviewing my old emails and came upon one regarding Fr. Bill. Today is January 30, 2010 and it is a day of remembrance and celebration of Fr. Bill, for it was a year ago today that he entered eternal life with our Lord and all of heaven is rejoicing!
I miss you so, Fr. Bill. This is the Year of the Priest and you were a fine example of a holy man who was loved by all.
Rest in Peace.

I just had an idea to google Fr. Maroon's name. I haven't seen or spoken with him since about 1978 when we lived in Dublin, OH and he was our parish priest. Fr. Maroon was wonderful and I am especially grateful for the letter of recommendation he sent to Catholic Charities when we were trying to adopt our daughter, Christina. I'm so sad to hear of his passing, but it looks as though he was well appreciated for all that he was.

Sincerely,

Andrea Wood

Don,
I frequently think of you and Bill in school years ago. Please accept my condolences. I only read of Bill's death a couple of days ago.

He was a gentle and kind man with a wonderful sense of humour. He had to have a good sense of humour to put up with the teasing he earned as the old man in the class, and certainly gave a good as he got.

Love to you: prayers to Bill.

Joe and Don I don't know if you kept this link or not but I just wanted to say hello and I hope you guys are doing well. I read these entries from time to time. Father Bill was an important person in my childhood.

My heartfelt sympathy to Joe and Don and to all of us who love Father Bill so much. My heart has a hole in it. I am so grateful to have known him as a teacher and a dear friend. He taught us how to love well. One of my favorite times was when Father Bill sang the Holy Thursday Mass-- I loved his voice. I picture God welcoming him with laughter and dancing saying, "Well done good and faithful servant." We are all better people for knowing Father Bill-I saw the love of Jesus in his heart...

Father Bill was a gentle and kind Christian leader who lovingly cared for me as I was a new pastor of a neighboring congregation. I thank God for His grace shown through Father Bill.

To the whole family I am sorry for your loss. We all lost a very dear and compassionate person. I am sorry for every one of us as this is a great loss. Thanks to Father Bill we have all been enriched. He was a great man. Always my love to him. From one Lebanese to another.
