Not sure what to say?

I just wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to your family. My father, Sam Iker, and your dad were great friends and your father gave such a moving tribute to my father at his funeral. I like to think that they are now golfing and laughing somewhere. Your father will be greatly missed and I thank him and all of you for all the joy he gave my father.

I worked with Bill since the 1960's. We didn't always agree, but we shared the same world. Now part of that world is gone. I'll miss him. (He also forced me to stop playing chess. In the end there was no way I could beat him. It was too depressing.)

Barry Griffiths, Munich

Derick and Will, Please accept our condolences and our regret that we never met your dad. What a fascinating life he led. With sincere sympathy to your whole family,

Bill was an enormous talent and hard worker as a journalist and administrator. It was a pleasure to have known him in Berlin, Bonn and Munich. He will be missed.

We extend our condolences to Ingrid & her family. Bill was such a wonderful guy, loved by so many n our community of Naples Lakes CC. He will be missed indeed!

Bill touched many hearts and minds with his intelligence, his generosity, his sense of humor and above all his kindness.
I am reminded of his professionalism whenever I look at a picture of me at the Berlin Wall which Bill restored for me.
In bleibender Erinnerung,
Renate Shigehara
