In ROTC, Bill and I were the only two who were not selected for the military honor society, Cannon and Castle. We concluded that must have meant that we were the elite members of the class. Bill and I were great friends during our Yale years. After graduation we moved apart, I to New Mexico with the Ordnance Corps and Bill to Maryland and New York with the Infantry, as I recall. We reunited decades later, seemingly without missing a beat. Bill was a wonderful, smart, funny friend, along with Sally. We had not seen each other for many years, but I kept up with him over time with our mutual friend, Leonard Todd. I remember so well when their daughter, Christina was born, I went to their apartment on Park Ave. Bill and Sally were so thrilled and Christina was the light of their lives, so cute! Bill was a high school friend. Our class of 22 students were very close. Bill added so much joy to all of our lives...great humor, piano playing, motivation to learn, storyteller, and an enthusiam for learning and reaching new goals. One of the best.
