Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathy to Bill's family. I played on the basketball team with Moose as a freshman in 1952 and again in 1953. As a center we use to do a lot of one-on-one in practice. One day I fouled him real bad and he said "DARN IT". We were schocked! LOL. Moose was such an inspiration to us all and carried his bible with him on all road trips.

Jane and Family,
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time; I was deeply saddened when Mom told me the news. I have such fond memories of him from our formative years! He was and always will be larger than life for me. I am grateful that I got to see him one last time after Dad's passing.

Matthews Family - We were very sad to hear of Bill passing,God bless all of you at this time.

Our thoughts are with the family at this time of sorrow

Hellen and Family,

You are in our hearts and prayers at this very sorrowful time. Bill was a good and kind man of many accomlishments and was to be admired. May you find comfort in knowing that he is in Heaven with God (2 Corinthians 5:8).

God Bless and Keep You,

Coach Matthews was such a good man and I have many fond memories as a team member- as does my wife Judy who was a cheerleader during those days.

Jane and family,
We were sorry to hear of the passing of your father.
May God be with you in this time of sorrow through your faith in Christ our Lord.

Mr. Matthews made it possible for me to attend Va. Tech and become an athletic trainer for Ed Motley. His decision to provide support for my education changed my life forever. I am forever grateful.
