Mr. William Robert Matthews, 85, of Dublin, Va., passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010. He was born on March 27, 1925, in West Virginia to the late Patty and William Matthews Sr. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bryce Matthews. Survivors include sons, Victor Matthews (Shannon) and William "Billy" Matthews III (Felicia), all of Texas, and Jeffrey "Dean" Matthews (Kim), of Radford; a sister, Nannie Spencer, of West Virginia; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Valley Harvest Ministries, 4670 Harvest Place, in Dublin. The interment will follow in Pinehurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may call at Serenity on Friday, June 4, 2010, from noon to 8 p.m. for viewing.
