Not sure what to say?

Bill was a very close cousin. Also my physician for many years. Always a great friend

Billo was my older cousin. Never knew him well but always admired him. It is a tragic end to such an accomplished man. May God bless his family with the peace that passes all understanding.

My sympathy goes out to the family during your time of grief. May God's loving-kindness comfort you and help you through this difficult time. (Psalm 119:50,76)

My sister, father, husband and I were all patients of Dr. Mayfield for many years. We all appreciated the simplistic, "no frills" but thorough and wonderful care he provided. He asked about my sister for years after she finished med school and moved, loved to talk about his family, and he and his wife frequented where my husband worked. They were both so humble and loving. We will miss you, Dr. Mayfield. We thank God for providing you with a wonderful spirit and talent for helping...

Dr. Mayfield was the best doctor I have ever had. May he rest in peace. When my sister was battling cancer in 2010 (now deceased), he took her on as a new patient. She commented that his gentleness and thoroughness was a new experience for her. I will pray that God give you comfort in your hours of sorrow.

As Christian examples become less visible, Bill stands tall as a father, caregiver husband, citizen, friend, grandfather and teacher. We loved his intellect quick smile and his endless love. We know his soul is on God's right hand.. And all are better from knowing him.

Bill Mayfield was a childhood friend and neighbor. We were school classmates and enjoyed our times together in H.S.band. Bill was always the same. No matter where he was or who he met. Always a gentleman. I cherish the memories I have of him. May God hold all of you close and give you peace throughout these sad times.

I was his friend at Millsaps, Med School, took care of his parents, and then was his patient for 20 yrs. I will miss him. All of you are in my prayers.
