Bill was my mentor when we both taught at Maryland U. And even years after we both retired, he continued to be my mentor.

I truly miss Bill. He was not only a dear friend but I considered him my ‘church’ Dad. He taught me so much. I just know that God is very pleased with his new angel.

Hi
I knew Bill for many years from UMUC to the coffee club at McDonald's. He was my savior and gave me the grit to be strong . I will miss his support and beat stories about Philadelphia

I will miss Bill. Indefatigible. He loved life and fighting for his causes and Christian beliefs. Probably the hardest working conservative Republican in Montgomery County. I loved his book about his early days in Philadelphia. As a young man from "Moss" field in Torresdale, he knew well many of my school yard friends at St. Bart's and from my neighborhood of "Wissinoming." He loved to talk to me about those formative years. There is a special place in heaven for Bill, I am sure.

To Bill's family, Mary Ann and I send our love and a hint of sorrow, because although we will miss him terribly, we are certain that he has gone Home. Our memories of Bill go from basketball games with he and Billy, daily mass at SJN, every church function, his books, and finally, meeting every Monday morning at the Abortion clinic in Germsntown.
This earth needs more Bill McCaffreys.
