McClain III, William Whitfield (Whit)—age 53 of Knoxville, died at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, October 17 at home. He was a master electrician at Atlas Electric.
Preceded in death by mother, Lenore McClain.
Survivors: daughter, Anna McClain (Annabelle); father, Bill McClain; sisters, Lisa McClain Hamilton, Drs. Cindy McClain Pearman and husband Brad; nieces and nephews, Sarah Pearman, William Pearman, Lauren Pearman, James Hamilton, Jennifer Frost, Eric Hamilton, and Elisabeth Torrente; aunts and uncles, Elizabeth Webb of Johnson City, TN, Jo and Jim Nelms of Charlottesville, VA, John and Mary Stewart McClain of Chattanooga; many other friends and family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tennessee Theater Restoration Fund, 220 Clinch Avenue, Knoxville 37902; or Ijams Nature Center; or the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2004, at First Christian Church, 211 W. Fifth Avenue. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Scott Rollins and Rev. Coy Jo Bays officiating.
