Dear sweet Myrna. Sorry to hear Bills passing. You both were such kind good people! Loved hearing about your move to the South and running a farm. I´m sure Bill loved that. I interacted professionally with Bill over many decades and consider these interactions to be some of the very best of my whole professional career. I realize that I am about 5 years younger than Bill and when we first met he seemed much more experienced than me. He was a senior manager at Wah Chang and responsible for much of the world's supply of Nb alloys for superconducting magnets while I was a green Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin. I worked with Bill on the SCSC Program and the proposals that Teledyne prepared. Bill was one of the smartest individuals in the world. He was a science visionary.
