I first met Bill in 1960, when I began working for Far West Services. I worked in Hawaii until 1971 and then transferred back to California. In Orange County I worked as a supervisor for both coffee shops and dinnerhouses. It was during this period that I had more opportunity to know Bill. He and John Macintosh began having the managers wear Rehn Spooners in Hawaii in 1961. They both wore them personally and so do I. I still wear them and will always think of Bill when I do. He will be missed.

I had the privilege to work with Mr. McIntyre on the Reuben E. Lee in Newport in the late sixties he was a soft spoken gentleman and helped me when I was doing
the booking for a short time. I returned to waiting tables in the sternwheeler where his son Steve was cooking. I am proud to say I worked for Far West Services and Jim Mcintyre. When I tell people I was with them for 15 or so years in many of their dinner houses people always say what a wonderfull restaurant
and fabulous food...

I only met Bill once, but just adored him. He was such fun, telling stories and fascinating us all. I know how he'll be missed, a man of such accomplishment and humor. And such a gentleman. I am so glad I had the chance to meet him. I'll never forget him.
