Not sure what to say?

I was at university with Scott in the 70's. He was a wonderful person then. We were in touch briefly in the 2000's when I saw his name on Facebook. We spoke a few times on the phone and had many things in common. Recently, I had tried to phone him a few times but didn't get through. Know I know why. My sorrows to Ingrid and thanks to her for caring for his last days.

I met Scott while working in Charleston to the construction of the beautiful Cooper River Bridge. I took him on top of the towers and sometimes we met on some week-ends for a chat after a walk or jog on the bridge deck. He was very amiable and kind and my wife Alida and I will remember him with sympathy and with sorrow for his departure.

Scott went to great lengths to reunite friends now living in Charleston who grew up in Lima, Ohio (about seven of us!). Before the passing of Rachel, we would meet annually to share stories about our childhood and high school years. I was a year ahead of him in high school but his parents went to my church (St. Marks). He will be missed! Scott was a friend and wonderful person.

Most of you that have read this obituary have fond and funny memories of Scott. I am envious of the years that you had with him. We came into each others life September 17, 2018 when the company I work for we're handling the liquidation of his condo. We both believe that it was a God Wink, (an occurrence so odd and out of the ordinary, it had to be put in place by God. A wink from God letting you know you're in the right direction/place.) We immediately hit it off and he shared a lot of his...

I knew Scott back in the 90's and he and I were great buds. I am devastated hearing about his death. After his beautiful wife, Rachel, such a bright light in his life, died he told me back in 2018 how desperately he missed her, adored her, loved her and worshipped the ground she walked on. It doesn't surprise that he would die so soon after her. God has brought them back to each other for eternity.

Scott was our next door neighbor growing up in Lima, Ohio. His sister Jeni and I were very good friends. My dad and Scott loved to prank each other. We younger kids got a kick out of watching them do all kinds of
funny things. The best prank most of us probably remember was the water bucket above the back door. They would take turns filling a bucket with water, rig it up to the back door, and whammo!! They got soaked! It was hilarious to see...and hear, the shrieks. The other thing I...

Scott was one of our neighbors in Lima. A great kid. Prayers for the sisters Kathy, Wendy and Jeni.

Thoughts and prayers for Scotts family. Linda (Offenbacher) Stemen
