He was a loyal and faithful friend. I wish I had heard about this sooner. I was completely surprised and saddened by his passing.. My husband Pat is up in heaven with him now talking ND’s chances for Saturday against Alabama. Carol Creadon.

Our hearts are heavy here at Notre Dame at the loss of our friend Bill. He was so much fun and had many, many stories to tell. We will be glad to have him back on campus amongst his many friends. Rest in peace Bill.

I loved our rounds at Congressional and our unforgettable trip to the 1973 Cotton Bowl to watch our Alma Mater defeat Alabama and win the National Championship. Bill’s older brother Jim was my parish priest at St Luke’s Church in McLean in 1963-4. Consequently, I knew about Bill long before I met him in 1972 at the Democratic...
