Read MoreI was a student at Strathearn Grammar School Belfast, Northern Ireland, where Mr Meaders was an exchange teacher in 1962. I was not taught by Mr Meaders but remember the stir it caused to have a male teacher in our all- girls' school for the first time! It has given me great pleasure to read Mr Meaders obituary, and I am so impressed by the wonderful life he led.

Darrell left a huge legacy. His footprint of smiles, compassion, and dedication to education will echoe into a long future. I'm glad my path crossed with Darrell's. I am Marty Butt who is former superintendent of Standard School District and PDK officer. My kids were West Hi students at the time Darrel served there. Darrell was a wonderful guy!
