Old Bridge, New Jersey
The Same Billy
Place: Billy Micciulli's house
Time: Weekend
Game: Beer pong
Any excuse for getting together with his high school buddies was occasion enough for William E. Micciulli to pull out all the stops. Like the brand-new Ping-Pong table he bought for a barbecue at his house in Old Bridge, N.J., last July so he and the guys could play beer pong, using their own rules to get the ball into a cup of beer. Winner drinks up.
Mr. Micciulli, 30, was a very successful Wall Streeter. He was a partner at Cantor Fitzgerald — one of the youngest, in fact — but he never told his buddies that. To them he was the same Billy Micciulli.
"All of Billy's friends knew how much he cherished them," said his wife, Colleen.
Although Mr. Micciulli had been a domineering right-handed pitcher from Little League through college, his sports focus shifted to fantasy football. On Sept. 10, he and his father painted the Ping-Pong table his favorite colors — Dallas Cowboys blue and silver — for the coming weekend bash that would kick off the fantasy football season.
The party was canceled; the table put away. Finally, after about six months had gone by, Michael Kucher, a friend, moved the table to his own house for his son's birthday, and the first game of beer pong without Mr. Micciulli. "We tried not to bring up too much stuff while we were playing, because we didn't want to make it too heavy for Colleen," Mr. Kucher said. "It was great, but none of us could really look at the table without thinking of Billy."

William Micciulli, 30, loved them Cowboys
William Micciulli was such a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he recently decorated his Ping-Pong table using the team's blue and silver colors.
The enthusiasm Mr. Micciulli demonstrated for sports spread to other interests in his life. "He enjoyed everything. Whatever he picked, he went into 100 percent," said Mr. Micciulli's sister, Andrea Madonna.
Mr. Micciulli, 30, and his wife, Colleen, moved to Old Bridge three years ago, following his sisters, Andrea Madonna and Joanne Los Kamp, who were already raising their families in the town.
Shortly after 8 a.m. on Sept. 11, Mr. Micciulli phoned his wife from his 104th floor office in One World Trade Center to talk about the menu for a party they planned for the following Sunday, opening day of professional football.
"He had the Direct TV football package. He was in a fantasy football league," his wife said.
Mr. Micciulli ended their phone call, saying he had to get back to work, his wife said. Mr. Micciulli was a partner and senior vice president of international equities for Cantor Fitzgerald.
"He loved being with his family and friends," said Los Kamp. "He was a funny guy. He enjoyed life."
Mr. Micciulli was the father of 2-year-old Emily and 10-month old Sara.
Andrea Madonna said her brother "simply loved to laugh."
Mr. Micciulli, who was born in Brooklyn, played Little League and high school baseball while growing up on Staten Island, where the family moved when he was young.
He continued playing baseball at Fairfield University in Connecticut. He went on to earn a master's degree in business administration from St. John's University in Queens, N.Y.
Although Mr. Micciulli "hung up his (baseball) glove after college," said Colleen Micciulli, he remained active in sports as a member of the Glenwood Country Club in Old Bridge and the Jersey Shore Runners Club. He participated in charity races throughout the state.
Often he would jog in the evening after work. "He'd get in to work early so he could get home at a decent hour," Los Kamp said.
Earlier this year Mr. Micciulli's parents, William and Joan Micciulli, and his maternal grandmother, Jacqueline Carmellino, moved to Manalapan to be closer to the three siblings.
"We were always very close," Madonna said. She recalled her brother giving his nephews tips on baseball. "He would stop by a park and start a pickup game with kids," she said.

10 years in heaven

I never got to meet you, but you are my cousin regardless. It's been 9 years. I was 10 years old then, but I'll never forget the instant pain i felt when I seen a Micciulli on that list. We both have a lot of family out in New York, and to those closest to you, -My thoughts and Prayers have been with you the whole time.
And to Will and all of our family, including other families effected by that day,
-I send you my MICCIULLI LOVE.
