To Bill´s family, I was saddened to hear of Bill´s passing. Billy and I went to grammar school together,I remember him being a kind and happy boy with a big smile!

Bill was not just a friend, but was a mentor. In my 1st real "grown up" job, he hired me to work under him at the Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce. Working under Bill, with his diversity of experiences, and incredible personal network, helped me to learn not just how to be a professional, but how to connect with others. Bill was a great boss and mentor at the New Britain Herald to so many reporters. He helped create an atmosphere that led to lifelong friendships. I have many fond memories of chatting with him in his office, and I was sad to hear of his recent passing. Sending love to his family.

Gail & family:my sincere condolences on the passing of Bill whom I spent a great deal of time with over the years when he was at the Herald and I was serving at City Hall. That was followed by his years at the Chamber where we were involved with issues of importance to the City of New Britain. Bill was an inspiration to me while I was at the Herald. He was both brilliant and kind, and will truly be missed.

Billy and I were childhood friends growing up together in Plainville. We played a lot at Norton Park playing baseball and summer league basketball . We shared a lot of laughs in class . His parents and his siblings Michelle and John made their home a great place to hang out. Bill enjoyed working on an old International scout in the back yard. Many memories of Bill at The Herald during my brief political career. Later, at the front desk at the Hospital of Special Care, we had many chats. He had a life well lived. Surely, God met Bill with open arms an said. " Well done, Bill. Welcome home."

I am falling apart knowing a world without Bill is not turning. Bill was my first supporters running for Mayor in New Britain. He saw people as people, being a African American he saw everyone will succeed not by who you are but the City will move forward. Gail and families i am so proud of Bill, the New Britain African American Community as well of those who knew Bill will say THANK YOU Bill for helping opening doors for us all when he was here in New Britain.
