To all of Billy's family and friends, I am sorry for your loss. I was Billy's next door neighbor and friend for nearly 20 years. He was a kind gentleman and I will miss him. He was a good friend of my father's as well...the first time I met Billy, he and my dad rescued me from being stuck in a snowstorm. He had that big old Jeep and he drove us all the way up snowy Monte Sano so we could get home safely. I'm glad I have so many fond memories of him.

I have known Billy most of my life and he was a good friend of my mother's for several years. I regret that Mom and I could not attend his funeral and send him off, but we will miss him for sure. He was truly one of a kind. When I read that he passed, my first thought was of him singing "Polly wally doodle all day" years ago at my house. I have a lot of Billy Monroe stories, but for some reason that stood out. Our condolences to you also Paula. We are thinking of you. Oh yeah, and War Eagle,...

Not only did we lose a true southern gentleman, we lost an Auburn Man that lived the Auburn Creed "I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men. " War Eagle Billy!
