William Joseph Morris, age 88, died peacefully on March 7, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.  Bill was born and raised in S.W.Philadelphia.   He graduated class of 1949 from West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Boys.  Bill served in the Navy during the Korean War. Then made his home in Washington Twp.  NJ.  Mr. Morris had a 35 year career with Phila. Gas Works where he was chief dispatcher. 


Bill was an avid sports fan, he loved his sport teams The Phillies and The Eagle.  He enjoyed his free time working around the house and was an accomplished craftsman, fixing and repairing whatever needed attention.  He also enjoyed spending his time with his family and grandchildren.


He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Patricia Morris. He is the father William Joseph Jr. (Elaine) of Malaga, NJ, Dr. Christopher John Morris (Marissa) of Philadelphia, PA, Margaret Andrea Morris, Esq (Henry Schober, Jr) of Philadelphia, PA, and Stephen Patrick Morris of Philadelphia, PA., and the late James Leo Morris. He is survived by his  sister, Sister Marian Leo, IHM of Immaculata, PA.  Bill is also survived by his 9 Grandchildren, William J. Morris lll, Theresa Morris, William C. Morris, Richard Morris, Frances Flaville, Henry Schober lll, Danielle Morris, Kimberly Morris and Stephanie Morris as well as 2 Great Grandchildren, Sean Flaville and Colin Flaville. 


Bill is preceded in death by his siblings Anna Jones, Leo Morris Jr., George Morris, Regina Lawrence, Elizabeth Morris, and Rev. Robert Morris.


Funeral Mass will be held on Friday March 13th at St. Charles Borromeo Church ( 176 Stagecoach Rd. Sicklerville, NJ 08081). at 11 AM.  Friends may call in the church 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the Mass. A graveside service will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery (240 N. Tuckahoe Rd, Williamstown, NJ 08094).
